A Moldovan man pleaded guilty in federal court this week to racketeering conspiracy and fraud in foreign labor contracting.
Viorel Simon, 29, admitted Tuesday that he supervised foreign workers while knowing they had been brought to the Kansas City area with false promises and had been threatened with deportation if they complained.
Simon was the most recent defendant to plead guilty in an alleged human trafficking scheme that illegally brought more than 1,000 workers to this area.
