Bhubaneswar, Dec 14 (PTI) Worried over increasing women and children trafficking from the state, the Orissa government today framed a comprehensive policy to prevention the crime.
The draft policy, prepared by Women and Child Development department and approved in cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, suggested setting up of Integrated Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur and Sambalpur.
While Commissioner of Police would ensure setting up of AHTUs in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Range IGPs at three other locations would have such units, chief secretary T K Mishra told reporters here after a cabinet meeting.
Each unit would be headed by a DSP rank officers, while one inspector, two assistant inspectors and six constables would be part of the unit, he said.
