Sex Traffickers Busted with 42 Burmese Hookers | Pattaya Daily News - Pattaya Newspaper

Three people were arrested for sex trafficking in Kanchanaburi Province. Police raided a bungalow and discovered 42 Burmese women who had been forced into prostitution. Nine girls were under age 18. The province is known for its Death Railway in the movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai.” 

KANCHANABURI – September 10,2012 [PDN]: the arrests of three sex traffickers after a police raid was announced by Pol. Col. Watcharap Thongluan, the director of squad 5, commander of the Suppression Division; together with Pol. Col. Pattarachai Korsanan, the director of detective division of Karnchanaburi provincial police; and Pol. Col. Chatchai Sueasaming, the director of Muang Kanchanaburi police station.
The raid was conducted at the Bamrungrak Bungalow in Ta Makham sub district municipality, Muang Kanchanaburi.
The raid took place after police received reports from the Anti-Slavery Trafficking Action Network that prostitution was taking place in the bungalow. They said Burmese women were being forced into prostitution, including many underage girls.
Inside the bungalow, police found 42 Burmese women, nine of them under age 18. The police arrested a man who claimed to be the bungalow owner, Mr. Udomsak Pet-u, age 32, living at 290, moo 8, Chaikasem, Bangsapan, Samut Songkram.
Also arrested were two others: Mr. Wongsathorn Luengsa-ard, age 52, living at 138, moo 2, Lardya, Karnchanaburi; and Ms. Sakuntala Singhame, age 46, living at 105/2 ,moo 12, Tamai , Chumsang, Nakornsawan.
The three were charged with human trafficking, and engaging in providing, luring, or convincing the person into prostitution.
The suspects were sent to Pol .Maj. Col. Sukon Rus-Iam, detective officer of Muang Kanchanaburi police station, for prosecution according to the law.
